Pre-Wedding, engagement or honeymoon photography is particularly challenging because a photo-journalistic approach will fail due to the fact that there is no particular event to be covered and no particular situation happening. Rather, it requires the photographer to portray the personality and individuality of the bride and the groom and to put this into the context of Bali’s natural beauty.
Therefore, the photographer needs to assume a role similar to that of a film director and choose stunning locations and also direct the couple in front of the camera. While choosing the locations is still manageable for most photographers, directing the couple and making them look natural, un-posed and relaxed in front of the camera, requires people skills and extraordinary communication skills from the photographer (and his/her assistant).
Even though the scenes are directed and arranged, the resulting photographs still look natural. Dominik’s pre-wedding photographs are a great testimonial for his outstanding skill in conveying the emotions of a man and a woman united in love.
